The thesis

Like You Mean It

from Flat Circles, Sharp Edges
Step briskly
Like you mean it
Move as though you're alive
While you are
Never take for granted the tiny blip on the radar that is the
Truest measure of your cycle
Through an unending and timeless chronicle
Stretching
Back to antiquity and further, beyond record or reckoning
To neomodern futurescapes we cannot conceive of
We are but a speck of lifedust in a universe too large and complex to understand
The first and final and only choice
Is choosing to choose
Hauling along the stowaway
Humility you cannot elude
When grasped roughly by
Cognizance of your own infinitesimal insignificance
If life has meaning, it is found in the tenacity of your stride
Walking through the brevity of it all with relish
Taking notice of what it feels like to be alive
For now, for just
This fleeting moment
Flashing in and out of existence
A firefly twinkling amidst the mighty cosmos
Twinkling nevertheless
I am here
This is my name
And I mean it
I mean these things I say
This life I'm living
Goddamn it
This trivial transitory existence
Trifling or no
I meant it, I mean it
I will not go silent and demure to the guillotine of time
In the face of inexorable eradication
I choose to choose
Riding the storm
Winking like lightning bugs
Dwarfed by heavenly bodies
Yet
Defiant, and laughing about it
